CFFC at Thornton Sunday 11th October 2015

For our final outing this year 8 club members had a go on a very difficult day at Thornton. We knew it would be hard work as the returns had not been great recently and noises in the Lodge on arrival were not very encouraging!

Still it was a nice day to be out on the water and Kezz thought he had it sussed as he took two first off on a Zonker, but that was his lot for the day. His boat partner Keith managed three through the morning, fishing a Di 5 with a Cut Throat Cat on the dropper and a Montaddy on the point, the latter accounting for his fish.

Three of us managed one fish apiece and three did not catch. Some reported follows and the odd pluck; Bill lost a nice fish earlier in the day when it leapt out of the water and threw the hook, but he later took one on an Olive Lure given to him by his boat partner Tom to take to Scotland. It was nice to see you back, Bill. Rosemary took one on a Minkie fished on a floater and had a couple more takes, and that was it.

Result:-
Keith Prowting 3 fish 6lb 15oz Heaviest fish 3lb
Kezz Saxton 2 fish 3lb 4oz
John Parnham 1 fish 2lb 9oz A lovely brownie 2lb 9oz
Bill Richardson 1 fish 2lb 3oz
Rosemary Gunn 1 fish 2lb 00oz

Let us hope for tighter lines next year. Remember Colwick is open until 31st December.
