Finally 'tern platform' removed from water and the rocks in Buzzer Bay have been post and netted. Instead of watching 30+ cormorants on the rocks and around Buzzer Bay. There were none! 1 on the water late on and many trying to come in - and failing - joy! Perhaps next, clear under the roosting trees and utilise the public to disturb the roosting area? Why does it take comments in an open meeting to achieve this? I understand 'the meeting' was postponed?

my cut throat cat did the trick today catching 5 onit on a di3 sweep line i was getting pulls & follows. tom & graham catching 3 each tom with a 5lb 1oz fish

Went out yesterday with Allan and we could not buy a pull even on the Cut Throat Cat !!! Tried Di 5, 3 and slow glass. Same areas as Kezz and a few more. I gather none of the bank anglers that were out had anything either. Well that's fishing as they say. Tight lines to all on Saturday.
ReplyDeletea nice autumn morning at colwick flat calm with fish riseing. brown & pale green buzzers hatching i fished around the rocks takeing 4 on a sean dicky on a fast glass not to good in the afternoon. six boats went out today looked like open day dave inglis with 2fish brian 1 tom 3 & got snaped two day tickets catching 2 each the rest nothing .

i had another hard day at colwick 2day only catching 1 ive lost the plot.tom morton had a good day catching 4 with a cut throat cat di3 sweep brownie deeps.dave inglis boat partner catching 2 on a black & green di3

ReplyDeleteI fished with Kezz on Saturday, and not even his fish finder could find any, I'm beginning to think that someone as swept the lake with a net. Ah well as they say there is always next Season.
ReplyDeleteKezz you got to look at this site -www.pikeflyrod.com It has so much stuff for pike flies and a good choice of hooks. Specialist company in Derby. Have spent some dosh in order to create the perfect rainbow trout fly......

ReplyDeleteLike opening day at colwick 2day every where i went in the boat i caught fish ended up with 11 .my nomad did the trick again & a uv minky i copied of rosemary fast glas was the line.........

ReplyDeleteAnother excellent day at colwick i would say to easy & i mean easy fishing the washing line with a suspender buzzer on point red dawl bach & black cruncher top dropper 15 to the boat & lost 6 at the net i was fishing top end out from the marina bank loads of fishing riseing...... ps where is every body
ReplyDeletepike .blanky blank 2day not just for me & jed but every body eles struggled a little jack was caught & a 3pounder caught by nick on a dead bait. i blamed it on braid with the water being gin clear but the pike men says not .we will see 2morro im useing mono ...........

ReplyDeletestarted fishing at the end of the road strech in that bit of a bay were i noticed fish
riseing,i was equiped with a fast glass with a cut throat cat & tequila blob on the
dropper & it was not long before my rod was bending i caught 7 from there & released a 5lb plus fish before it went quiet about dinner, tony was slow to stride
until we went up to the marina bank casting towards the island, then tony started
to catch on blobs i caught 3 more up there,all in all it was a good days fishing
but you had to keep moveing to find the fish....kezz

ReplyDeletetwo i caught ,i fished the marina bank first with no avail i think the fish are further out there from me being in a boat last time,park bank was best but i had to keep
moveing down the bank, i was fishing the dark side with blobs on a fast glass....kezz
