  2. 18/05/2013: After 2 slow weeks Lake seems to have begun picking up. Last weekend had a number of good 6 fish bags and really quality fish appearing. Boats beginning to do well and yes I have at last started to see rising fish across the lake. Log suggests a switch to naturals with buzzers and Daiwl Bachs featuring highly. Sorry for few postings - I was away for a week and have had a bereavement in the family to cope with.

  13. Brilliant day today. Everything that could happen from boat seat being run over in car park to every sort of take; dry cruncher; shark follow and swallow and Kez's spectacular double hook up and leap from the water did happen! Finished with 20 to the boat - I scraped one more from Buzzer Bay Kez before losing two to a hook gape opening - check your hooks as you go folks.
Colwick should be packed it's fishing so well. Why go anywhere else?

  17. An unexpected day on Colwick today. And what a day! Put all the tactics from Sat & Sun to good use. Not as many fish showing today in the sun but they were not deep at all. Most of the day was spent drifting and only really anchored for any length from 4.30 - 5.45 when fish finally began actually showing themselves. I added 14 to the rest of thje days 14 to finish on 28. UV crunchers, quill buzzers and UV arsed damsel nymphs did the damage all day. As Kezz says - get down there!

  19. Banks in Buzzer Bay now strimmed. Weed a problem from the bank and boat lodge end though deep water clear. Still fishing well.

  23. Bit vague for much of today. Far too much time faffing about but managed 6. Kezz as professional as ever managed 160 I think. Variable conditions made it a thinking day to keep up with what they wanted. Washing line slow for the most part. Great to Taylor from Saturday's Taster buying his season permit and then catching two from the bank during the day. Good stuff.

  25. Great stuff Kezz, wish I had come back to Colwick on Monday as Widgeon and Farm were not good, wind was very strong. Thought I had commented on my day at Colwick on Sunday, good day with newcomer to the Trout as you witnessed. Catching on anything black, crunchers, diawl bachs, black nomad and little black fritzy weighted fly.

  26. it was hit or miss between the two islands at colwick today i caught 2 there fishing
buzzers deep then the wind picked up so i went in search for calmer water
buzzer bay was the place, drifting from there to the lodge catching me another
eight, fishing the washing line .....

  27. I had 7 cracking fish between the islands yesterday (Mon 24th) all around 3 to alb, they fought like demons, all on intermediate ant the old favourite all be it the new variant. I recon they were over wintered fish as the were in mint condition with tails like shovels
