  8. Another day they can't take away! Found an old fly box with 25+ yrs old flies in and stuck a few of them in, in case the trout were still on fry. And they did the business!! So old I had to crush barbs in order to use them. Was harder work as Kezz says but 11 to the boat in December - and the lake to ourselves. Again. Can't beat it.

  11. It's the 15th December & I've caught 9 today! Fishing from the bank, mostly Marina Bank using a mini midge tip with a gold head Hares-ear on point and black Hopper on dropper, had 2 on at one point! Most came to the Cut-throat Cat which I put on later. Suppose Monday not a popular day, I had the lake to myself.

  16. I think this is going to be my last report on here.I like to give flyfishers a idea what im catching on at colwick & where.but it dont seem to be happening when im fishing there with the lake to myself.where are the people who say we want a season extension & we want the boats to stay on & the pike men are crying to get on that lake again....Any way the fish seem to be holding in the shollow water from the boat slip way down wards fry bashing the best way ive found to catch them was a gold rib hare.s ear ( leaded) on the point & a red holo rib dawl bach (floating line) 23 fish get down there............

  17. Good points Kezz. Would the place make more by letting the pike guys have more time? There seems to be plenty of boats available anyways. Cracking fishing mate, looking forward to them all getting through the next 10 weeks to March!

  21. '0' does it for me mate. Only 10 weeks and we are back at it!
Have had 2 desperate days. No more than 1.5 hrs sleep at a time. Constant headache. Coughing fit to bust every hr on the hr. 2 bananas, a cup of soup and a slice of toast in 48 hrs and the runs through day 2 of affliction. Still - beats teaching!
