  1. Trout Masters fish off Sunday in blazing sunshine won by Keith Prowting with 5 fish for 16lb 7oz. An excellent catch in very difficult conditions. Action to damsel nymph between two islands the previous day - 17 hits for 7 fish to the tube. But very patchy. 1st find the fish. Anyone fancying fly fishing for carp - huge 20 - 40lb fish cruising the rocks in Buzzer Bay in the sunshine?

  2. Not easy as trout are spread out throughout the lake. I had 5 whilst fishing the troutmaster fish off and lost one, all taken off the south point.
Last stocking of the summer this week, next stocking starts in September.

  4. Kev & Tony both playing fish right outside the lodge at the same time! Insult to injury. Really positive to see someone catching a decent bag. Said it was the best day weather wise for weeks before Kev went out. Watch it rain from Tuesday when I get a few days off.

  6. Not a bad weekend with several limit bags. Kev 'only' caught 7 on Sunday! Boats doing better than the bank at the moment. Weather still changing by the hour, never mind the day.
Anchor for sp14 - Tom in the back at the lodge and chain for sp1 Kev in my bottom locker in the back ( I didn't want it thrown as scrap Kev).
I'm in Yorkshire for the next two weeks - with some fishing gear.

  9. Buzzer Bay banks now strimmed. Weed becoming a problem from banks. Boats definitely beginning to do better with more good bags today.

  10. Those at the meeting tonight will know Kezz and I enjoyed another great day at Colwick with 36 to the boat at the finish. Dennis the Menace Buzzer deep and twitchy slow between islands produced terrific takes for both of us. Another stocking today = approx 4,500 fish in with very little sign of cormorant. Most fishable banks have been strimmed.

  11. That's not 4,500 today folks......... That's current balance after taken fish........

  13. Much harder today. Brownie Deeps = no sign of fish. Between islands and drifts worked in the morning with a small scruffy uv damsel. Then I lost it, the whole leader infact and went without for a long, long time. Nothing else in the box that was scruffy enough, so roughed up a new 'proper' one and it started to work. For real or just coincedence? Ended the day on buzzers between islands as the other day. Did manage 14 by 5.30 but lost and missed more than I caught. Last fish took off like a train and I was convinced it was a big, big fish. Turned out to be blue of about 21/2lb. Beautiful fish and fighting way above its weight.

  14. I fished on Thur 12th just 4 hours in the morning and had great sport landing 9, all great fish caught on black buzzers or a Damsel between Island, 2 in Brownie Deeps, 3 off Road side and one between the points. Floater and Midge tip. The best Colwick has been for a while, so glad you told me to go out Jed and Kezz. Thanks.

  20. Not a fish to the boat today in the sunshine and little moving to be seen. No buzzers coming off either. Hope it's better for the weekend.

  21. I had a great day yesterday landing 10 including two mega fish, one weighing 6lbs 2oz, the other looked very similar was carefully returned. Kezz your Damsel worked well for first hour, then a switch to black buzzers, the new Rio Midge Tip had a good outing! Then off to Buzzer Bay for the last hour or so. Took 3 on a Di 5 FAB/Nymph/Nomad set up which worked well.
