Conditions
looked pretty good on arrival with several fish showing near the
Lodge at 8am; nothing like wetting the appetite! We were however
advised to only take four fish tickets as the fishing had been really
testing over the past few days.
Seven
of us fished. It was good to see Paul back and to welcome Bill on his
first outing with the club, his first visit to Foremark too. Kirby
FFC were also fishing and only managed two fish between them, and
there were more of them than us.
The
fishing, Hmmm…! Kezz and Rosemary had the most action, mainly in
Carvers Arm with loads of follows to Hoppers fished behind a bright
Booby and later switching to washing line with similar flies. It was
better when there was cloud cover. Kezz worked really hard to take
four and release two, sadly rather small so he did not come top at
the end of the day. Rosemary worked nearly as hard to take just one
and get exasperated by the follows not turning into fish!
John
Parnham had four fish taken on Orange Blobs, one on a floater and the
rest on fast sinking lines. He and Roy moved about, one taken near
the aerator which was not on, a couple in Flamingo Bay and one in
Carvers Arm.
Paul
stayed near the Cascade, bewitched by moving fish but only landing
two.
Keith and Bill struggled, only getting three Perch
between them! Still Bill said he enjoyed the day out, getting to know
a new place and fishing with someone new to him. So new club members
come and enjoy a day out for a different experience with hopefully
more rewarding fishing on future outings!
