Tough at Thornton

Result at Thornton
1st Tom Morton 3 fish 6lb 5 oz

2nd Keith Prowting 2 fish 5lb 5oz

3rd John Parnham  2 fish alb

4th Kevin Saxton 2 fish 2lb15oz

Heaviest fish a Brownie 3lb 13oz Keith Prowting

We were given good advice by Ifor before we started as he suggested a 4 fish ticket as it has been hard and the rod average was 2. he was true to his word as it was difficult to say the least. there were plenty of fish showing but they were very difficult to take, it was a frustrating day and somewhat tiring in the heat which was not really expected, at least by me.

Kezz said “A gruelling day.” I totally agree!!
What fish were caught were taken between approx. 10.30 and 12.00. Tom came out on top with 3 all taken on a floater with 2 to the Orange blob on the point and 1 to a red ribbed Diawl bach on the dropper. Keith was second with 2, one a lovely 3lb 13oz Brownie on a Di 3 with a Montaddy; John Parnham had 2 and Kezz had 2 on a Di 7 and Deadly Damsel. That was it!

There were plenty of fish moving from time to time particularly down the

Markfield Arm where Tom and John took their fish. Keith and Kezz took

theirs near the Stones.

I can only hope our team do better in The Round Robin on Sunday at Draycote and our next outing which is Eyebrook on 5th October. All welcome.
