CFFC at Carsington Sunday 3rd August 2014

CFFC at Carsington Sunday 3rd August 2014

We had not been to Carsington, such a picturesque venue, for a

couple of years. We had windy conditions and found the fishing

really hard, which was only to be expected after such a hot spell

and rather typical for August.

Desperate measures in the end meant back drifting with fast sinking

lines and a booby - not cricket in most people’s eyes! Rosemary

fished with Tom and half way through the day told him she thought

this was the only way to try catch fish, so they drifted out from the

dam and, bingo, Tom caught his six fish by 3.30pm! Rosemary only

managed one and lost four, much to her dismay.

John Parnham and Roy fished the same way with Tubes, John taking five which included the heaviest fish on the day, and Roy one. It was great to see Roy back again doing very well with his new knee.
Unusually for Keith and Kezz they blanked, having moved all over the reservoir and trying everything. Fishing always a great leveller; there are good days and bad days and I guess we all get brought down to earth now and then!
RG 6.8.14
Sorry I was unable to load a picture of Toms fly, it was a black fritz booby KP
 Result Tom Morton 6 fish for 13lb 6 oz, John Parnham 5 fish for 10lb 5oz, Rosemary Gunn 1 fish 2lb 10oz, Roy Henderson 1 fish 1lb 9oz
