Salmon and Trout/Colwick Fly Fisher Club Junior Day
Another really successful day with 6 fish landed. The best yet! Many more were hooked and lost and
three or four were snapped. All a learning curve, many of those snapped were those not holding the
rod tip up and just pulling the line to tight, not allowing the fish to run when needed.
We fished off the roadside bank, where several fish were seen moving during the morning while
casting tuition was taking place. A break for a BBQ lunch followed by fishing which started slowly
with a few pulls experienced and then really picked up between 3 and 4 pm.
I must thank all The volunteers who come and help on the day, fund raise through the year to
subsidise these days, our excellent chef and not least Colwick Fishery for allowing us the use of The
Fishery for the youngsters. These days would not be possible without this support and of course the
tuition by Mick Huffer.
Colwick Fishery is producing some cracking fish , the fishing has to be the best it has been for 4 or 5
now. All fish taken were caught on floating lines, with black and green fritz, a deadly damsel and a
black buzzer.
