Club outing on 26th May to Colwick Lake

Rosemary reported:

Bank holiday weekend and sunshine! The warmest day we have fished this year. Summer for a day in that it was very bright with no wind, causing a flat calm for for much of the day. Not perfect conditions, but then when is it?
The fishing proved to be every bit a shard going as we thought it might be when we set out. 7 members fished on 6 fish tickets and we only managed 18 between us. John P had the best bag with 4 fish. Paul had 2 including the heaviest at 4lb 10 oz.
John caught on a sinking line with orange blob and two with white lure.Paul took his on a wufta booby fished with a Di3.Rosemary opted for a floater and took 3 fish on a black buzzer and 2 on green ribbed diwal bachs, losing 3 more.Tom and Allan fished floaters Tom taking 2 on diwal bachs, washing line method.
The fish caught were all in excellent condition and everyone said how well they fought. Several reported losing fish and getting plucks now and then. Spooning revealed mostly a selection of  buzzers mainly black.
Challenging though the fishing may have been the thrill of getting one of those fish on and landed was well worth while. Fishing would become boring if it was all too easy.
