Back to Thornton on a very pleasant
day. It was overcast to start with and then some sun to warm us up at
times during the day. The Club decided to fish to a 4 fish limit and
then catch and release, a more reasonable ticket than the 8 fish
limit.
I am glad to say all 11 of us had
our limit and all went on to release several more so a good day had
by all. The fishing was generally with an intermediate, Di 3, midge
tip or floating lines depending on the time of day. Black and Green
was probably the most productive overall along with buzzers for a
period of time which was superb sport and certainly RG’s favourite
method of fishing! Although small fish they were in excellent
condition and gave a very good account of themselves. A number were
lost and most of us experienced many more pulls.
The overall winner was John Parnham
with a bag weight of 10lb 6oz which included the heaviest fish of the
day of 4lb 1oz. Paul Lievers had a nice brownie in his bag weighing
2lb 2oz.
The overall result is as follows:-
John Parnham 4
fish 10lb 6oz

“ 8lb 2oz
Tom Morton
“ 7lb 11oz
Kezz Saxton
“ 7lb 10oz

nice report mate
ReplyDeletegood day out folks well done all
ReplyDeleteSeems unfair that everybody had a limit but some got no points especially that most bag weights were so close.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the points system needs changing so that half the points are available for number of fish caught, and half for weight.
Maybe something to think about for the next season.
What do you think?
I will report back to you paul no one eles will, its something you can bring up at the next meeting & we will
ReplyDeletetailk about it,see you there......kezz
