Good to see several fishing Colwick
today. As we all know Colwick has been well stocked for the start of
the season and many fish were caught. Most bagged up with 6 fish and
several went on to release many more so the general rod average
should be good for this week!
Some fished from boats and a few off
the bank, generally speaking fish were taken on sinking lines of a
sort with Black Nomads, Orange Blobs and the odd Damsel doing the
business. Later fish were up in the water and floating lines were the
order of the day with Buzzers, some Diawl Bachs and Orange still
featuring. Bloodworms too worked for many.
Overall winner was Paul Lievers with
a bag limit of 9lb 9oz which included a fish of 2lb 6oz, he was
closely followed by Tom Morton 9lb 8oz and Kezz Saxton with 9lb 2oz.
Some came out for a day in the sun
and just did C/R which included Susie and junior member Robbie
Asher, Dave Mee was back for more on his second outing with the club
and Richard Packman joined in on the bank. Great to see those of you
who are relative newcomers to flyfishing.
Next outing Sun 3rd.
April – Thornton.
NB. People
were apprehended for spinning, please if you see any bad practise
call the police and the Environment agency 0800807060, plus tell the
Lodge pronto. Owing to staff shortages the more we can help as users
of the lake the better.
Fantastic day for Kev and me, 74 trout to the boat which is a record for the water
