Our 2nd
day this year. The team had started before I arrived today due to the
birth of my first Grandchild yesterday morning! Good news!
There were three new
comers today along with three who had their first day a month ago and
some more seasoned youngsters. The first fish was caught this morning
by Angus, before the lunch time break.
I arrived to be fed
- lovely thank you Bob - then to assist with casting and choice of
flies to try and hook a fish or two. The good news continues, with
Michael catching on a very small black green ribbed buzzer. He had a
break and Evelyn took over to catch on the same fly soon after
Michael. This was Evelyn’s first ever trout so a great thrill. She
said it fought way harder than most of the coarse fish she has played
when out with her Granddad fishing.
Congratulations too
to Isaac who landed his 2nd trout ever, both having been
taken on our junior days.
The day was a little
different as there was a Detonate concert which started at 11am in
The Country Park today, running through tomorrow as well. Us oldies
were dreading it but in fact it was not as loud as we feared. It was
not ideal for a peaceful days fishing but no doubt it will be
deafening tonight!
This did not stop
many fish moving; however they were proving very difficult to tempt,
so a big ‘well done’ to those who landed fish. Bad luck to those
who lost one or two, but at least I gather several experienced a few
pulls here and there.
As always, if any of
you want a day’s fishing in the holidays, get in touch and we will
try and sort a CFFC Member to take you out and give you a hand.
