Thornton report

CFFC at THORNTON
23RD March 2014

The temperature had dropped somewhat overnight and more often than not a cold wind blew. The odd times the wind dropped and a little sun came

out were much appreciated, certainly by me! That is also when I found fish in the taking mood, including a lovely 4lb 8oz fish which proved to be

the heaviest of the day.

Eight of us fished, all caught, we fished a 4 fish limit then catch & release, so the first 4 fish taken counted. Roy Henderson was the overall winner

with 4 fish for 8lb 9oz. These were taken fishing a Di 5 line with a white tailed red Blob tied by club member Norman Evans.

This was Roy’s first win with the club, so well done Norman producing such an effective fly and Roy on your win.

Generally speaking most fished with Di 3 or Di 5 lines, flies doing the damage were a Yellow Dancer for Kezz, Wufta Booby, and various forms of

Black & Green, orange or yellow Blobs.

Next outing our home water, Colwick. Come along and support your fishery at present I have booked 5 boats booked. Advise asap if you wish to

fish.
